About the Artist

Jeanne Gugino Artist

Jeanne Gugino is the former President of the Newton Art Association where she continues to serve on the board as Program Chair. Over the past several years she has organized multiple exhibits for the NAA. Jeanne is an award winning artist and teacher. She has given several workshops at the Burchfield Penny International Center for Watercolors in Buffalo. NY. This spring she participated in a project at the BP by photographer David Moog titled "Artists Seen". As of October 2016, the jury accepted Ms. Gugino for membership into the National Association of Women Artists, Inc. (N.A.W.A.)

Her works are on exhibit at Kaji Aso Studio in several shows each year and annually at the Prudential Center, Boston. She participates annually in Newton Open Studios. Exhibitions include: Italy (Siena, Padua, Venice Japan (Shinjuku, Tokyo); UK, London; colleges and galleries in New York, Massachusetts and Florida.

Originally from Buffalo, NY, Jeanne graduated from the State College with a B.S. degree in Art Education, moving to Boston shortly after. She taught art in New York and Massachusetts public schools. After attending Mass College of Art and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts she became a member of Kaji Aso Studio.

Currently she serves as trustee, Ceramic Chair and instructor at Kaji Aso Studio. She is also on the faculties of the New Art Center, Newton Community Education and Kaji Aso Studio.
